Bomb Planting and Site Execution
The bomb (C4) starts in the possession of one random Terrorist each round. The bomb must be planted in either Bomb Site A or Site B. Planting takes 3 seconds and requires an uninterrupted location within the designated site boundaries. After planting, the bomb detonates 40 seconds later, winning the round for Terrorists if not defused.
Site execution is the coordinated process of moving to a bomb site and executing a plant. This typically involves entry fraggers engaging defenders, support players throwing utility to clear positions, and a dedicated planter positioning for plant. Successful execution requires utility to blind or flash defenders, allowing safe plant positioning.
When to plant depends on how many enemies remain alive and their positioning. Planting immediately after clearing the site maximizes defuse time, making it harder for survivors to defuse. If multiple enemies remain alive, delaying plant or planting off-site (away from standard site area) makes defuse difficult. Pro teams execute detailed setups where players know predetermined roles.
After planting, Terrorists rotate to favorable positions for defending the bomb. The bomb plant itself cannot be defended—enemies must clear all Terrorists to defuse safely. This creates a phase where Terrorists play for picks (picking off defusers) while defenders play for time to reach the bomb.
